REAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE INDUSTRY 5.0 TRANSITION OF THE MEUSE-RHINE MANUFACTURING SME (REAL)
Manufacturing SMEs (mSMEs) are at a turning point. While many mSMEs are still struggling with Industry 4.0, focused on automation and datadriven technology, Industry 5.0 is already emerging. This new paradigm integrates Industry 4.0, human centricity, sustainability, and resilience. For SMEs, this transition is especially challenging: limited resources and expertise make it difficult to integrate advanced data solutions and sustainability. The human centered approach of Industry 5.0 does however bring opportunities for better adaptation by SMEs.
Community of Practice AI (CoP-KI)
As part of the “CoP-KI” project, a cross-regional community of practice (called CoP-AI) is being established to promote the exchange and development of innovative learning formats in both urban and rural areas. The goal is to create a vibrant community dedicated to the professional application of artificial intelligence (AI). By bringing together people from different industries, experience levels, and regions of Austria and Germany, informal, participatory learning experiences are made possible and interdisciplinary and supraregional knowledge exchange is strengthened in the long term.
IDIAL – Intelligent Services Innovative Agile Local
IDIAL aims to develop AI services for knowledge workers in the skilled trades that are specifically tailored to the needs of smaller companies. Together with partners DFKI and eBZ, economic and practical approaches are being researched and developed that optimise work processes in the field of knowledge work and take into account the specific requirements of SMEs. The IDIAL solution strategy focuses on the early integration of ergonomic and technological development based on the specific tasks of information and knowledge workers. On the one hand, the project delivers immediately usable results for companies in the state and is intended to contribute to technology-oriented competence building in Rhineland-Palatinate.
