In the course of digitalisation, strong new players are entering the market in the sanitary, heating and air-conditioning (SHAC) sector, although these players are currently unknown in this area. In addition, the increasing shortage of skilled workers in the sanitation, heating and air conditioning sector is jeopardising the competitiveness and future viability of companies. Contemporary further training is one of the essential measures for maintaining the employability of employees, for increasing the attractiveness of the occupational field and for improving the future viability of companies. In order to give SHK companies the opportunity to remain compatible in the future, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) has launched a funding programme for the establishment of further education networks. The ITA is coordinating and supporting the development of further education networks in the sanitary, heating and air conditioning sector.
